Failed Long Distance Relationships

Don't let yours end in failure
Failed long distance relationships are very common for those who live far apart for a long period of time. Too many people do not get the advice on long distance relationships that could help them get through many of the tough spots or properly prepare for all the issues that will come up as the relationship goes on. There are a few common pitfalls that often result in failed long distance relationships. Knowing what those are and planning in advance can make things go much smoother and can alleviate many of the potential problems that can come up.

People who have been in failed long distance relationships often site these problems:

Feelings that they have been left behind and that they did not matter enough to the person who moved away.
Strong feelings of resentment towards the person who relocated.
Jealousy
HIgh telephone bills
Disappointment when and if the other person is not communicating as much as you are (via e-mail, letters, and phone calls)
Lives inevitably taking different course because of separate lives.

These are the common reasons that many who have gone through failed long distance relationships give as the factors that led to the eventual end. Many also state that had they gotten some advice on long distance relationships before they had even made the decision to go ahead with it, or had gotten some advice about how best to deal with the separation after it occurs as well as during the separation, they may not have ended up with failed relationships.

Relationships can be tricky as it is, when you add distance to those relationships, they can often end up to be too much for the couple to bear.
